We have a couple of Marti TSL packages which consists of a Marti RPT15, a Racom ID unit and a cooling fan mounted on a rack shelf.  

Since this is the first of these that I have worked on ,as a package, I have a question about the cooling fan installation.  We had a problem with the Marti overheating and I noticed that there was very little air moving from the cooling fan. When I removed the fan unit I noticed that there was no opening in the shelf to act as an air inlet for the squirrel cage fan????  Are we lucky to have 2 of these badly designed units or is this a common occurrence..  I punched a 2 1/2 in hole in the shelf and now the unit moves some air and is much cooler.
