Yeah you would think but this project has been delayed a year over this major "issue".
I explained in very small words that I have been doing this work for 20+ years and this was exactly the first time I had ever heard the term "copper toxicity" used in conjunction with an AM ground system. Even while working in highly protected areas AND even though copper is an essential nutrient for plant growth.
You would have thought that we were proposing a nuclear waste dump. The stations highly regarded (very highly) RF consulting engineer of 40+ years experience wrote a letter with citations from the one and only previous time that he had heard the term and it only seemed to fan the flames.
In reality, plowing a radial in seems to enrich the soil and bring the weeds forth but that wasn't what the activists wanted to hear...
Changing the specs to using coated wire seems to have placated the weed-huggers but the project is still stalled.
And let me be clear, they were in a lather about the WEEDS and GRASSES to be planted following the site rebuild. Like the weeds and grasses that we typically soak in RoundUp a couple times per year...
Sheeze...
