Rolf - I believe you can contact Symetrix and they'll email you a pdf.  Odds 
are, if the unit is dead or intermittent, look at the asymmetry switch on 
the far right, or the internal gain select switch inside on the main board. 
Their switches can go bad over time.  When those two go bad, it's really 
bad, as in, no output.   I've repaired many, many of the 528e's.  Very 
rarely have I seen a component failure, although they are old enough now, 
electrolytic capacitors are in question.
