When I turned eighteen, I got into my '55 ford station wagon and drove to the NY state border where drinking was legal at that age. I wanted to drink my very first LEGAL drink. I went to a bar, just over the state line on I-84, just past Danbury, CT. I ordered a beer, drank it then drove all the way back home to Westfield, MA. To me it was a time-wasting event. I couldn't imagine anyone learning to like beer. Much later on I learned that Southern Comfort was much better...
