FIRSTS:

Wireless telegraphy was inagurated in Lima, on San Cristobal hill on June 16, 1912.

Peru's first commercial station: OAX opened in Lima on 380 m with 6 a kW Marconi Type L transmitter on June 15, 1925. (The Peruvian Broadcasting Company was legally registered September 29, 1924.)

Today there are lots of radio stations in Peru. Most of them are maintained by Ewan Parry, after riding up to 20 hours on buses. It can take a stong posterior to be in radio in Peru!
