Belgian Broadcast History:
The first station in Belgium was
possibly Europe's first regular broadcaster. The Belgian PTT station began
broadcasting Thursdays and Saturdays from the grounds of the Royal palace at
Laeken, a suburb of Brussels. Transmissions started in 1911, and ended when the
station was destroyed in 1914 to prevent it falling
into the hands of the invading German army.
