Pix from Prior Lunches Another great Lunch ... thanks to everyone. We filled the entire side of the Riviera Buffet, as usual, and on into the central section. What was interesting was how annoyed the manager was that we came! (Before we got there, there were about 8 people in the restaurant, when we left there were five or six! ... but they acted like we put too much stress on them!)
Here are just a few pictures (more are
promised, but Scott Bailey faced (See yourself? Let me know so I can add your name!) The first pix are from Frank Gottlieb, KQV
Was the "radio tower" a
coincidence? We almost got a flashing light for the top,
Another copy of Linspire reaches a happy user.
There was a fair sized line to get the gifts
laid out. Pens, screwdrivers, calculators Ray Topp from Radio Guide brought a clock/calendar/desk organizer for everyone. Here are a few shots of the diners.
Let's see. Some Prophet folks, Harold Hallikainen, and more...
Among others, Tom Bosscher, Mark Allard, Alan Alsobrook

- oh sorry
Barry Victor, Mike Irby, Bob Seaberg, Robert Reymont and Kevin Clayborn are in this one, among others. Our thanks too, this year, to co-sponsors
Orban, Shively
Labs, Prophet Systems, and Comrex, Among the great door prizes, Orban offered a PC1100 audio processor, Prophet Systems brought enough pens and screwdrivers for everyone, as well as some T Shirts. Comex also had some T Shirts and a carry bag. SystemsStore offered a Byte Bros RWC1000K tester that saved one station over $500 on this fine test gear.
Next year? We'll hope to see you there!
... A quick look backwards! NAB 2005 ... Every 2005 attendee received an AC "Sniffer" to enhance their personal safety.
NAB 2004 ... Co-Sponsored by Prophet Systems, Shively Labs, Orban, and rfSoftware, a whole lot of folks made it over to the Annual Gathering at the Riviera Hotel Buffet Restaurant. You know ... the Lunch at NAB was such a blur that it was well after 2:00 before I could even check out the buffet. It seemed to me the quality was a bit better this year ... except for the carrot cake - yicck! <g> We had some great door-prizes again this year; at least nothing much was left aside from a Linux book or two (is the Linux passion dying a bit???). Can I take a moment to thank some of the folks who contributed to the Lunch? If you have a moment sometime, and mention it to them ... well, you know how it goes.... First of all ... my thanks to Prophet Systems, Shively Labs, Orban and rfSoftware that this year's Lunch Gathering got off the launching pad. Their continuing support is very much appreciated, and they have offered additional support for the future (please see my "other post" ... the one on the "Tech Initiative"), not to mention some goodies. (The pile of Prophet Systems screwdrivers and pens didn't last long at all.)
At any rate .. my thanks again to all who made it ... it was a great time, and let's do it again, shall we? and - our sincere thanks to the "2004 Lunch Gathering" Sponsors: Prophet Systems Shively Labs Orban rfSoftware
Here are a couple from last year: Thanks to Ray Topp of Radio Guide ... it was proven that there WAS such a thing as a Free Lunch! Frank Gottlieb from KQV shares these pix:
